HILDEN, Sept. 23.2011– Lawson Software, an Infor affiliate, today announced that Systemair has chosen to upgrade to the latest version of the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System, Lawson M3 10.1, for all 60 divisions of the company. Systemair is a global vendor of ventilation technology and will use new functionality of the Lawson M3 system to help improve key business and manufacturing processes. The upgrade project will be led by Merit Central Europe AG, a service and reseller partner of Lawson and part of the Merit Group, globally one of the leading Lawson M3 partners.
Systemair, headquartered in Skinnskatteberg, Sweden, develops, manufactures and markets high-quality ventilating devices and ventilators. The group includes 60 companies with approximately 2,500 employees and operates in more than 40 countries. An existing Lawson customer for more than 10 years, one of Systemair’s primary business goals is rapid delivery of its standard products to customers. Due to its rapid growth and global presence, the company needed the latest enterprise software system from Lawson to help address specific challenges in logistics and meet the requirements of a multi-site environment.
“We see the new functionality in the latest version of the Lawson M3 system as a good fit for our business,” said Jürgen Hernadi, Group IT-Manager at Systemair. “The user-friendly interface and industry-specific features will help us achieve our business objectives.”
As part of the overall project, Systemair will also implement Lawson User Productivity features, including Lawson Smart Office and Lawson Enterprise Search. Lawson Smart Office desktop-personalization technology provides tools to help users personalize their information workspace combining Microsoft Office tools, and Lawson M3 applications into one intuitive user interface. Lawson Enterprise Search is a simple-to-use search application that allows users to search both structured and unstructured data across Lawson software applications, Lawson Business Intelligence, and the personal desktop of the user.
The implementation plan calls for very few modifications to the standard Lawson solution, which will help simplify the overall project. ”Simplicity and reliability are top priorities at Systemair and this is not only valid for our company’s mission statement but as well for our IT organization. We will do the roll-out of our Lawson solution and the implementation of new features with in-house application teams,” added Hernadi. Systemair has installed 4 application-teams globally to support and simplify the transition.
“For companies like Systemair it is critical to have the right solutions and processes in place to support the ambitious growth plans. In addition Systemair needed a strong service partner with profound experience in implementing multi-site projects in cooperation with Lawson. A global upgrade project is more than just an IT project but a strategic corporate decision. Together with Lawson we share the mutual objective to offer our customers innovative and efficient solutions and professional services and support them to realize the full potential of their investment in Lawson,” concludedMichael Scheerer, managing director operations at Merit Central Europe.
